March 29, 2003 ( Saturday, March 29, 2003 ) Peace Rally was really fun. We stood on the side of baker street with our signs and chanted. We got lot's of people honking their horns for peace and such. Yes, we did get booed and yes we even got fingered, but for the most part people were supportive. Lot's of media attention too. After standing for a while, me marched down Baker St. and then onto the sides of the highway before standing on one of the little islands...it was interesting. Apparently there is another one next week, so hopefully I'll be at that one too. Some Interesting Rally Chants: Hey Hey Ho Ho George Bush has got to go (repeat) While you're shopping, bombs are dropping While you're buying, people are dying One, we are the people Two, a little bit louder Three, and we want peace For each other What do we want? PEACE When do we want it? NOW! |
