January 30, 2004 ( Friday, January 30, 2004 ) Ok yes, I admit that I've been slacking lately on posting both on here and on Catholic Burger but I'm trying. Well, kind of. This last week has been a roller coaster of epic proportions. Scott came down again and we had lot's of fun, even though all we seemed to do was watch movies. But even that is loads of fun when you're with someone you really love being with. Then it was back to the grindstone with school and practicum. Add being sick on top of it and then having troubles with a couple people in my life, everything seems to have settled a bit. The beginning of the year is always a horrible time for me, and for quite a few other people I've noticed. But however bad the first month or so is, it never seems to set the mood for the entire year. Last night I watched The Real Cancun. It was a terrible movie but it made me think a bit about my own life. It's sad when an extremely low budget, made for horny drunk frat boys movie makes you think about life, but it happened nevertheless. I thought about if I'm really living the way I want to live. If I've really making the most out of each day. Am I really pushing myself to the limits and enjoying being young and wild and crazy. In some ways yes...but in a lot of ways no. Inside, I know that I'm not pulling my weight around a lot of things. It's strange because in a lot of ways I am an extrovert but when it comes time to speak my mind, I don't. It's really odd. Yesterday while at Amy Woodlands, two of the 10 year old girls were discussing MSN and Hotmail and all of that. When I was in grade four, we talked about...power rangers and used our own imagination. I just thought of how weird it was that they're only 10 and they're already pro's at using the internet. *shakes head* And now for two random amusing quotes: "Just exchange body fluids and SIT DOWN!" - Gary from AIDS presentation "and yes, Pierre Trudeau did have a great tan"- weird teacher guy from school |
