September 29, 2004 ( Wednesday, September 29, 2004 ) The amazing travelling man returns! I know that I always say this, but I've been sooo busy lately! Right after coming home from Lethbridge with Scott, I went to Saskatchewan with Erin. Needless to say it was interesting. The night before we left I stayed at Erin's house and woke up at 2 in the morning to her watching the Jetsons. I convinced her to turn it off and then we woke up at 5:30 to leave. The drive to Humboldt wasn't too bad. It was about 15 hours. By the time we got there we were tired and went to bed. The next day Erin showed me around Humboldt. It was much bigger than I expected. I was expecting about 200 people but it was probably 2,000. It had a McDonalds, let's just say that. One night we went for a walk and some random teenager like...biked up to us, fell over and then asked Erin out. She declined and we walked a bit faster back to the house. That same night, I met Erin's aunt who knows Theresa Sokyrka's (Canadian Idol finalist) mom so we had a voting party but Theresa didn't end up winning. After we left Humboldt we went to Melfort to visit Erin's other Grandma and then we went on to Prince Albert. We stayed at Erin's sisters house which was....interesting as there were two hyper children and no hot water. At one point we managed to escape and go to a movie. We left Prince Albert after a couple days and headed to Saskatoon to stay with Erin's aunt until we left for home. Saskatoon is a confusing jumble of dead end streets. We managed to find the mall, which wasn't too spectacular. We ended up just going back to Erin's aunts and playing Scrabble (which is a blood-sport in that family). I won the first game and Erin's grandma won the second one. The next day we headed for home and after about 12 hours we were back in Cranbrook! My travelling stories continue. I got back from Saskatchewan late on Tuesday night and then on Thursday morning, I left with Scott to Nelson. He had to go to this Columbia Basin Trust Youth Advisory Commitee meeting thing so I went with him. It was.....good and bad. I wasn't really supposed to be there so I was kind of stuck in my room while they did meetings and I was allowed to come down for the spare time. Everyone was really really nice and we played some games, including one called Mafia which was really really fun. We were done in Nelson (Winlaw actually) on Sunday (the 26th) and then came home. The travelling still goes on. On Monday (the 27th) was Scott and I's ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Yay, so that is very very wonderful! On monday morning Scott kidnapped me and we headed to a secret location (which ended up being Radium Hot Springs) for a night of Anniversary fun. We bought lots of Scratch tickets and walked around what there is of Radium. On Tuesday we went to the Hot Springs which was nice. We had a nice long conversation before heading back to Cranbrook. When we got home we did a geocache and then Scott made dinner before we relaxed and watched some Friends on DVD. So yes, I HAVE been busy. I am still jobless though and I'm getting a little worried about my financial situation. *sigh* *edit* OH! Sarah Slean's new CD "Day One" came out on Tuesday and it's great!!!!! |
