January 04, 2005 ( Tuesday, January 04, 2005 ) So yeah, I know that my layout is kinda blah but it's just a transitional one between the christmas one and hopefully a much nicer one. ANYways.... Christmas: Was the best one I've ever had. I had to work Christmas Eve, and after I was finished, Scott and I joined my family at my aunts house, and then headed off to midnight mass where Annalise joined us (last minute!). After church Scott, Annalise, Erin, Trina, and I all headed over to Denny's for our post-midnight mass, pre-christmas hangout. We exchanged gifts and then went home. At about 3 in the morning Scott and I snuck into my parent's house and assembled a present for my mom and dad so that it would be a surprise on Christmas. It was a homemade family tree/wall hanging thing that everyone seemed to like. I got spoiled, and attempted to spoil other people. Scott got me a Gamecube which has resulted in a lot of Mario Kart playing! I also got Friends Season 8, some Spongebob stuff, a fleece blanket, warm fleecey pants, slippers, Coke glasses and a bowl, a Sarah Slean poster, and a hydration backpack (yay!), and lot's of other stuff. I got Scott a juicer (which is being used like..everyday), a popcorn maker, a cookbook, simpsons season 3 and some other goodies. It was a great Christmas, lot's of fun and family. Hooray! New Years: Also a great time. Chris, Nichole, and Ginn came over and we ordered pizza and just hungout until midnight then we kind of just...slowly started to get tired and we all went to bed. I think my new favourite drink is an Apple Martini. Very potent, but very good. As for my New Years resolutions, I'm going to work extra hard at meeting them. For the last few months I've been working my way towards being a vegetarian and as of Sunday I haven't eaten any meat. I've also started to eat and drink healthier, and Scott and I have started working out again. Goodbye sugar laden body, hello healthy one! We watched Super Size Me last night and...yeah...go read the review on Catholic Burger. With all that is going on in the world right now I feel almost guilty about being in a perfect mindset. I don't know if most of us in North America will ever fully comprehend the magnitude of what has happened in Asia. It's beyond sad, it's more than terrible. I've been trying to keep up on the news but after a while it just becomes overwhelming and I have to turn it off. We have a luxery that a lot of people don't have. We can turn the news off, tune it out. Those people can't. Nature can do some pretty powerful things sometimes. |
