July 26, 2005 ( Tuesday, July 26, 2005 ) So while riding the bumper boats yesterday at Playland, it occured to me that I have the best job ever. I'm not bragging, nor am I saying that my job is better than others, but for me, it's like...the best job. I get to work with a client population that I enjoy working with, U get to pretty much be in charge, and I get to do fun stuff! I can't believe the summer is almost over though...August should be fun as we've got trips to Silverwood and camping and stuff to do. The whole friends situation this year has really been interesting. It seems that some people only call when they need something, and others only say they'll call and then don't. Makes it frustrating to want to hang out with people. Ryan came down for a brief visit and sampled all of what Cranbrook has to offer on a thursday night...which is absolutely nothing. This whole friends thing is strange because..I'm not really mad about it because it's not fair that I get so worked up about it when they don't seem to care at all. My birthday is next Wednesday and due to the current friends situations I'm not sure what Scott and I will be doing. Maybe we'll just go to a movie or something. I'm really starting to pick up Annalise's additude towards birthdays. It's a big hoopla for being another year older. And it seems like my birthday is the one that always gets passed over by people, whereas there are some people I know who cry and complain if they don't get a huge present. cake, party...etc...Oh well, it's not worth worrying about...right? The midpoint of summer is approaching and July seems to have gone by so fast. It feels like all I've done is work. I'm mainly just doing summer rec, although I am doing a midnight shift this weekend at the group home. I'm not sure what's going to happen in the fall..hopefully something will materialize. I've made up my mind about the bike trip to Calgary. I'm gonna do it. I think it would make for a nice vacation (for me at least) from summer rec. I wish that someone would go with me, but it really looks like it'll be a solo trip. Going with Scott would be so fun, but I don't think he wants to go (do you Scott :P). I've got most of it planned out except for where to stay once I get to Calgary, and how to get home. Maybe I'll have to bike back.... Well, off to work now  I went camping with work at Rock Lake! |
