August 06, 2005 ( Saturday, August 06, 2005 )  So the freakiest thing just happened. I was coming home from a bike ride and as I was going around to the back door I was greeted by two rather large male deer. Definately wasn't expecting to see them there. The  y were huge! I slowly made it to the door and managed to snap a few pictures before they left and wandered across the street. Quite a random event. Although far less scary than the time I unknowingly walked underneath a tree that cougar had climbed up and was up there until conservation officers caught it.So that's my interesting story of the day. My birthday went quite well this year, and I apologize to anyone if I was grumpy or pessimistic. I just have had a fair amount of stress lately so it kinda made it's way out and I'm sorry if I seemed whiney or rude. I had a pretty good birthday this year. Scott spoiled me (stop it! now i have to one up you for your birthday!) He got me an MP3 player as well as some homemade presents that were very very cool. My parents got me a gift certificate at Gerricks Sports so that I could buy my bike bags for my trip. They also got me a swiss army knife and a really nice St.Christopher necklace. My brother and Nova (and Ciara!) got me a really nice pair of headphones. The rest was money and scratch tickets! My mom made the best cake, it was frozen raspberry cheesecake....holy crap was it good... Work is going pretty good. Although it's hard to believe it's almost over again. We went to the beach on my birthday and then on Thursday we went camping. There was a bear warning while we were camping at JimSmith (it had been seen walking around the campsite for a few days) so that added some excitement. This week coming up should be fun as we're going to Silverwood on Friday! THen only a couple more weeks until my big bike ride! I'm starting to get organized for this trip. I've got the bags and some of my camping stuff. I bought a new tent, I've got a sleeping bag, I bought a small stove (like...the size of a cd case), I bought a little pot and pan...I still need to get some things and to plan the actual route out..but it should work out in time.
