The Jann concert was amazing!

We left around three and got to Nelson in time to walk around before dinner. We also needed to find the new Recreation Center which we parked across the street from but didn't know it. We had dinner at the Outer Clove, a garlic restaraunt. Apparently they put garlic in everything...chocolate cake included. The food was really good and it was a good little restaraunt, I highly recommend it to anyone going to Nelson. After dinner we had some time to spare so we went to the Kootenay Co-op, which is a locally run organic grocery store. They have a great selection of bulk organic tea so I bought a mint blend which is really really good (I should have bought more), and some bulk spearmint because it smelled soooo good.

The concert itself was really really good. Only about a thousand people there but still a nice crowd. A girl from Nelson opened, she was ok...all of her songs sounded the same and Scott described her as "like nails down a chalkboard". After a brief intermission Jann came on. Her set seemed short but it was still excellent. Her between song banter is so funny. She talked about the plane ride to Nelson, her hotel room, and the lifeguards sitting in the front row. I found it odd that she didn't play any songs off her new album but Scott and I figured it's because this show wasn't part of her actual tour and that's when the new songs will be added. She did an encore which was so funny. She just started singing "I will survive" which turned into the "Medley of Songs We Don't Know" featuring "Stayin' Alive" and "Hit Me Baby One More Time". The trip and the concert was just a really really great time, even if we didn't get back until 3:00. Poor Scott had bad luck with 7-11 too. Both of the ones we stopped at had broken coffee machines...

Now....it's the weekend..hoorah

Oh, it's the Terry Fox run on Saturday....everybody should go and do it. You don't have to run. You can walk, bike...you could even roll the whole thing. Just go and raise money for cancer. CTV aired a movie about Terry Fox last sunday and it's on again this Saturday on CTV. It's really good and if you have the chance, you should watch it.
