Scott and I went to Calgary last wednesday for the Sarah Slean concert and we had fun. On the drive there we went the banff way, listening to Christmas songs and butchering them. When we got to Calgary I couldn't remember the name of the hotel that I booked and we drove around Motel Village looking for the one that I remembered from the picture. We had like half an hour to get to the University and we finally got there after the longest traffic light in existance. Scott waited with me until the doors opened and then he went for coffee with his friend.

The concert was amazing. Just Sarah and a grand piano. I can't even pinpoint a highlight because there are so many....the venue was incredible, it was a recitle stage and had amazing acoustics and just an overall beautifu design to it. The setlist was a treat since it mixed older songs that I hadn't heard live, to newer songs which were great to hear solo. I actually ended up sitting next to a girl from the Sarah Slean message boards who I (kind of) know, so that was neat.

After the concert, Scott waited with me so that I could talk to Sarah and get some things signed (she had prints of some of her paintings for sale and I bought one of each one!). I told Sarah a story about my bike trip and how when I was scared of being eaten by a bear, I started singing her song "Sweet Ones" insanely loud. She seemed amazed at the fact that we travelled for 5 hours just to see her. I gave her a little present that I made (a passioneer ninja!) and she signed a cd and a print. She's probably one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

The next day we just hung around, we went to a craft store and then to Chinook to walk around since we didn't have any money to spend. After Chinook we went to South Center to complete part of our mystery christmas card (mwahaha) and we went to the Disney store. So many cool things there this time. We also got harrased by the cologne lady at the Bay on our way out and both ended up with samples.

Then we headed to Okotoks to go for dinner with Scott's grandma. When we got there, his grandpa was there too which was a suprise. We kind of sat around waiting for his uncle when all of a sudden Scott's mom came in. That was like...suprise of a lifetime. I wasn't expecting that at all, and to be honest I probably would have expected to see Oprah walk in before Scott's mom. Everything seemed to be good though, we had a nice conversation (I got some more dirt on Scott). After dinner, Scott got his christmas stuff from his grandparents and mom and after some hugs we were off. I find it weird that the starbucks in Okotoks is drive-thru....

So that takes care of the trip stuff....Last week I applied for a job at the center and found out that they aren't filling that position anymore. Crap damn. I also just applied at the school district so hopefully something comes out of that....

On Friday Scott and I went to the Santa parade and ran into my aunt and uncle and cousin Morgan. It was a pretty lame parade but we got free hot chocolate so that makes up for it. Then we all went to my parent's house for dinner because my grandma was in town. My cousin is such a nut. She's probably the funniest 8 year old I've ever met...

On Saturday we visited with Ciara for a few hours...she gets cuter and cuter every time I see her. Later that night we decorated our christmas tree....it took about 5 minutes as our tree is about 2 feet tall 3 feet tall...oh well....it's cute and it has cool ornaments and there are already presents underneath.

I wonder what kind of christmas it will be this year.....
