December 28, 2005 ( Wednesday, December 28, 2005 ) ![]() So Christmas came and went. As quickly as it usually does. I hope everyone had an enjoyable time, I know I did. Thankfully I got a bunch of shifts right before Christmas so I knew I was going to able to afford gifts. Work was actually better than anticipated, some days weren't as good as others but it was only minor things. I painted a Santa on the window one day because I was so darn bored. Christmas Eve was fun. I worked and then we went to my aunt and uncles house. After kind of just sitting around for a bit everyone teamed up and we played charades. I, unfortunately, picked the hardest damn things to act out like "how to lose a guy in 10 days". Christmas Eve also produced one of the best party quotes -> "Does anyone know how I got here?" - my uncles brother. It became a running gag all christmas. After charades, we went to midnight mass and met up with Erin. It was fun because there are always things that happen that are funny in a "should laugh while in church" way (ie: The Scroll Guy). Thankfully I managed to stifle my giggles. There was another quote that came out of church "they're not going to win Church Idol with that choir..." - me. After church Scott, Erin, and I met up with Trina at Denny's and we had our annual Christmas Eve Denny's. It was a lot of fun, even though Trina's card contained a cut up tampon. Then it was home to bed to get 5 hours of sleep. Christmas it self was a lot of fun. Quiet this year but it was nice to have a low-key christmas. I ended up getting a guitar! I was so happy. I also got the last season of friends, a friends trivia game, SHOES!, and a ton of other great things. I was quite happy with the gifts that I gave people, it was hard to get things on such a small budget. I painted a large (as in 4 poster boards) picture of Jim Morrison of the The Doors for my brother. I was quite happy with the results even though it took a lot of time to fix the little things that bugged me. It so funny the little traditions that christmas has. My dad has worn the same house-coat for like 20 years. We always open our stockings first. We have baileys in our coffee. I love our christmas traditions.About a month ago, I decided to do a secret santa type thing for my 8 year old cousin. Basically I snuck presents into her mailbox with a note saying that she'd have to wait to Christmas to find out who the Secret Santa was . I had her completely fooled right up until Christmas when she had to put a puzzle together to figure it out. It was so funny. Now...I suppose I should have a shower.... |
