July 26, 2006 ( Wednesday, July 26, 2006 ) I can't believe that July is almost over! This month has gone by so fast and I know that August will go by just as fast. August is already so full of things that I really hope nothing big comes up. Next thursday is my birthday and it falls right in the middle of an 18 day work stretch. Joy!  So a couple weeks ago Scott and I went to Silverwood. It was a lot of fun, and not as busy I thought it would be. I had to convince Scott to go on just about every ride but once he went on them once it wasn't too hard to get him on them again. The only one he didn't go on was the Panic Plunge which I hope he'll eventually go on. It's really not that bad!  After Silverwood we stopped at the Wal-Mart in Sandpoint and enjoyed all their food goodness. So many things for cheap that you can't buy in Canada. Scott was particularly impressed with their pop-tart selection. Work is kind of stressing me out. For the first time since I started working at my job(s), I've seriously considered finding a more permanent position. Who would have thought I'd be complaining of working too much? It's really frustrating to be the only fall-back person. I know that I have every right to say no to shifts but I always feel so guilty and then I end up working like 18 in row. It's not merely about working so much though, it's the whole system. There are so many rules being broken and it's not right. I don't mind helping out once in a while when someone is sick but I hate being the only person who seems to be willing to work a shift when they need someone. So many things to say about that but I'll save you.... So the bike trip starts in less than a month! Megan and I went for a short ride last night and we're going again tomorrow. I'm not used to riding with anyone so it's going to take some getting used to for me. We had an interview/photo with the Kootenay Advertiser that hopefully will come out within the next week or so. I still have to contact the newspapers in other towns along the way. If you didn't know already, we've set up a small website at http://ridekootenays.atspace.com . And now, I'm off to go camping with work...even though I don't really feel like going.... |
