Ugh, I'm tired.

The last two weeks have been so draining.

Last monday I headed off to Rock Lake Camp with work for the week. Rock Lake has to be my most favourite place in the whole world. I counted the times that I had been there and figured that it had to be at least 12. The week as a whole was pretty enjoyable. I find that going to camp with work helps to bond the coworkers, I feel a lot more connected to them now.

I went kayaking on one of my coworkers kayak, it was so much fun. Next to biking, kayaking is already on the top of my "fun outdoorsy things to do" list. When I was out on the kayak, I caught a turtle....I broke a rule of the camp! Actually when the week was over I found out that I had broken three rules of camp...oops! For the most part camp was fun, I got to go swimming everyday and save for the few stressful times, I had a lot of fun. I think the only really crappy part was having to play the "guy" card since all the other staff were female. I had to rid the kitchen of a few mice and kill a few bugs....oh well!

The day I got back...more like the minute I got back to Cranbrook from camp, my boss at the group home asked me to work that night. I was like "um....no."

My mom's 50th birthday was on Saturday which was a huge big party. Everyone had fun, I lovefamily get togethers.

This whole week I've been doing nightshifts. I usually don't mind them, but then again I'm usually only doing two nights in a row. This was five. By the 3rd night I'm spent. I feel like a vegetable. I can't really keep track of my thoughts and everything seems really jumbled. Scott, I'm sorry for being a grouch these past few days.

I found out yesterday that one of my cousins had just passed away from cancer. With all the statistics saying that one in three (i don't know if that's accurate) will have cancer and almost every person knows someone who has/had it, I can honestly say that she's the first person that I've actually known that has had cancer. She put up a good long fight, we'll miss you Betty.

Tomorrow Scott and I are going to Silverwood. This will be his first time and my 5th. They have a new ride which I am so excited to go on. The Panic Plunge (140 foot drop at 47 mph!) Scott won't go on. I think that's because of the whole Stampede debacle. You see, when we went to Stampede, it was my first time whereas Scott and Emma had been there before. They graciously allowed me to pick the first ride that we'd all go on (no veto power!), immediatley I said "DROP OF DOOM!". I enjoyed it. I was scared out of my mind don't get me wrong, but I loved it. Scott on the other hand...well, he doesn't trust my ride choices anymore.

So the bike trip planning is coming along well. We're leaving on August 23rd and should arrive in Penticton on August 30th. I met the fundraising goal of $600 and there are still donations coming in! Look for a full detailed trip update soon!
